Tell me what you want, what you really really want...

I wanna, I wanna...I really really really wanna...

Enough of the spice girls.

I have many wants. Too many.
I shall narrow them down to just 7 and get back to you shortly.
In case you forgot (it has been almost a whole week), I'm doing the 10 day you challenge:
Oh, and here's an update as to what's going on with me:
After I go compete in a math contest, sell makeup, and complete a few mountains of homework, I'll get back to you. Maybe.
I'm bemused as to why I agreed to this math contest. As you might know, I don't like math unless it's science-based math (and not physics)
I may have just completely gone off my rocker (and become über-nerdy)
*shrug*
I am also forgetting to eat as of late.

I do not have an eating disorder (...that's what they all say, I know)
I just so happen to be absent-minded about such things.

You'd think my stomach would be better at reminding me.

My stomach is totally slacking off on the job.

Also, I was reminded of just how faithful God is to me and that He does have a plan.
I've been struggling lately with feeling like I have purpose.
I've been feeling, well, apathetic about life in general. God is seriously good. The other day, He reminded me that I am called to serve and to follow. He gave me a wake-up call. ...maybe I'll blog about it later, after this math-ese.

shoddy poetry:

O calculus! Oh math!
How you do scramble my brain.
When upon a problem I encounter,
My hand cries out in pain.

I will write steps o'er and o'er
(As no other creature would do)
And yet, what ho! when the answer I give
The answer is snubbed with a "foo!"

I want to live a merry life
But, O math, you bring me low
Math, will you not be lenient?
Why must you stay? Will you not go?

"Your mind should not be wasted", they say
"From your math-heresy you must repent!"
"You foolish, silly girl", they tell me,
"Math makes your life well-spent."

Yet I laugh and scoff at their words
For what good comes of math?
It can't cook or clean (among other things)
It can't even draw me a bath!

"Math is in all processes" they'll tell me
"Math makes your wishes come to be!"
If this is so, I will now go.
For my one wish is from math to be free!

...this is what a few hours of calculus homework does to me. PURE INSANITY and lack of reason (and rhyme, as you can tell).

I have decided to never be a math professor.
E-ver.

Also, I'm not going to be a poet.

That is all.

Math math math

Math math math math.

I wish the lie that was prevalent in 1950 held true today...
Seventeen magazine said that math wasn't a girly subject. "Math is best left to real brains."
Ha. Hah.
.

...Oh wait.

That would make me....the inverse of "real brains"??

Uhmmm. Perhaps math is a wonderful thing!
I take that wish back.

No magic lamps around? Whew.

Delights and Discontentment

Well, another week almost over.

The weather has been nice. (what is it with small talk and weather? I guess it's a common interest, but really?)

Physics is a thorn in my side  wonderful yet challenging subject.

For serious. I don't know if I ever will understand the coefficients of friction.

When I'm 64, I'll still get a bemused look on my face when a stranger comes up to me and says:

"Hey, I'm trying to drag a block here with my string that makes an angle of 25º to the horizontal. If the mass of my block is 12.0 kg and I'm exerting a force of 36.8 N, what is my block's coefficient of friction?"

I'll say "who cares?" and that will be that.
Honestly, what kind of stranger would do that to you?

Nope, I'll master it. I will. I shall overcome.

So whenever, however, whoever that person is, comes up to me, I can proudly state that the coefficient of the kinetic friction is 0.25

ahh, math.

It's not really my subject. See, I lean towards the "other" subjects.

Math, in my book, is not necessary, at least the higher level stuff.

I know what you're thinking.

If we didn't have math, we'd be big old ignoramuses.

It's true.                        (I wish it was false.)

It's funny that I love most sciences, but dislike this physics so....

Let's refocus, shall we?
"Count your blessings name them one by one...."

Ohh, a wonderful blessing: new guitar strings. You don't realize how crummy the old ones are until you replace them. I just did, and it is a beautiful sight.

something completely Different:

This weekend is going to be a blast. See, it's a retreat.

Retreats are amazingly refreshing.

The only bummer is that it is supposed to rain.

All. Weekend. Long.

But that shouldn't affect too much. It's a spiritual retreat more than anything.

*****My sister just made some mega-cinnamon buns. They just came out of the oven! I think I 'm going to go sneak a "nibble" and no,  I'm not going to define the size of a nibble...
